Planting instructions
Seed Treatment
Soak the seeds in warm water (around 20-25°C) for 4-6 hours to stimulate germination.
After soaking, there is no need for cold stratification as giant sunflowers do not require winter dormancy. You can sow the seeds immediately after soaking.
Prepare the Soil and Pot
Use loose, nutrient-rich, well-draining soil. You can mix it with organic compost or coconut coir to improve soil quality.
Choose a pot or planting area with plenty of direct sunlight (at least 6 hours a day) and good air circulation for healthy growth.
Sow the Seeds and Early Care
Plant the seeds about 1-2 cm deep and cover them with a thin layer of soil.
Water gently to keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering.
Caring for Mature Plants
Once the seedlings sprout, water regularly but avoid waterlogging.
When the plant reaches about 10-15 cm, apply organic or potassium-rich fertilizer to encourage blooming.
Lightly prune any old leaves or dead flowers to help the plant focus its energy on new growth, resulting in stronger and more abundant flowers.
